It’s a trust the process kind of thing…
Tiktok really is the gift that keeps on giving, hack after hack, trend after trend, we pretty much owe half the things we know to that app. This TikTok smokey eye trend is no different. If, like us, you have basically forgotten the expert-level blending skills you once possessed before lockdown, then this little trick will be your new go to.
Just imagine it, you get a text from your BFF and a spontaneous night out is on the cards (yes those are a thing again). You are in a rush, but you still wanna create a MUA level smokey eye for your return to the club, we got you. With 5 minutes to spare, a couple of brushes and a basic palette, you can nail this trick with minimum effort.
Trust the process – The tiktok smokey eye
Instead of the usual painstaking process of meticulously blending colours outwards to get depth and levels in your eye makeup, all you need to do is draw lines. Seriously.
This simple hack consists of using a flat brush to draw lines of shadow downwards over your lid. Choose 4 or 5 colours that you would usually use and then blend them in with a fluffy brush. No mess, no fuss, just the eye makeup of dreams.
This trick has been done by thousands of people on TikTok and it seems to work for pretty much any colour combinations, from grey and black to orange and red. Take a look at some of our fave examples below.
